Cristiano Ronaldo Surpassed A Juventus Legend In The Club's All Time Scoring Charts As He Struck Home A Clinical Goal On The Opening Day Of The New Season.

 

Cristiano Ronaldo scored  his 66th goals for Juventus on Sunday as he began the defense of its Serie A title with 3:0 win over Sampdoria.

* The strike means the Portuguese forward has now scored more goals for Juventus than club legend and former Ballon d'or winner  Pavel Nedved, who hit 65 goals in 327 games between 2001 and 2009. 

"It's  always good to start the season with a win" Ronaldo said on Instagram after the victory. "Well done team". 

The Portuguese forward hit his side's final goal in the 88th minutes  after strikes from Debutant Dejan Kulusevski and veteran defender Leonardo Bonucci. 

"It's always good to start the season with a win ",  Ronaldo, who broke Nedved's scoring record in just 90 games, said on Instagram after the victory. 

Kulusevski, who was making his first appearance for Juventus following his $41 million transfer from Atalanta, praised his 35 year old teammate, after saying., Cristiano? He is fantastic.

September 23rd marked the end of an era as Barcelona confirmed the transfer of Barcelona legend, Luis Suarez to rivals Atletico Madrid.
